The Board of Directors

The GFTC Board of Directors is composed of seasoned professionals from the film and television industry, as well as business people. The directors are native Gaspesians or neo Gaspesians and have a strong commitment to the development of the Gaspe Peninsula. They will undoubtedly be able to promote the region as a filming location to producers, location managers, and various financial backers.

🎬 Philippe Montel

Line Producer & Production Manager

With over 35 years of experience in the film and television industry, Philippe Montel has built a distinguished career as a line producer and production manager, contributing to both domestic and international productions. His deep familiarity with the Gaspe Peninsula—where he has filmed numerous projects—reflects his commitment to showcasing the unique stories and landscapes of Québec’s regions.

From 2019 to 2025, Montel served on the board of directors of the Québec Film and Television Council (BCTQ), where he played a key role in advocating for enhanced tax incentives for foreign and Québec-based productions. He was also actively involved in provincial discussions to increase regional production tax credits, a cause he champions passionately, believing in the power of regional storytelling to enrich Québec’s cultural footprint.

Originally from the Gaspe Peninsula, Éli Laliberté is a prominent voice in Québec’s documentary scene. For over three decades, he has explored major social, environmental, and Indigenous issues through a lens that combines emotional depth with narrative precision. His work is rooted in reality, giving space to voices often overlooked, while offering a thoughtful and committed perspective on the world we live in.

Trained in design, Natalie ran a set design studio for several years before making her directorial debut in La Course Destination Monde in 1995, where she won five awards. This pivotal experience launched a dynamic and diverse career in filmmaking.
